Terms and Conditions

Every Ohtonen Studio piece is created to order, by hand, from your own photograph. It is unique to you and cannot be resold. This affects your return rights, so please read this before you order.

You may cancel and receive a full refund any time before the artist begins work on your piece. Work begins once we have received your photograph and started your relief. To cancel, reply to your order confirmation.

Because each piece is made to order and personalised to you, it is exempt from the standard distance selling withdrawal right once production has begun. This means we cannot offer a change of mind refund after the artist has started your piece. This does not affect your rights if a piece is faulty or damaged.

If your piece arrives damaged, or with a fault in the making, we will put it right. Contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photograph of the issue and your order number. We will repair the piece, remake it, or refund it, at no cost to you.

If the parcel arrives visibly damaged, please photograph it before and after opening if you can, and contact us within 14 days. We handle the claim with the carrier, you do not.

For most pieces you receive one preview to confirm the pose and composition before the artist applies the final finish. This is your moment to adjust the direction. Once approved, the piece is completed as confirmed.

All prices are shown in euros (EUR) and include VAT where applicable. If your country applies import duties or taxes, see Customs below.

Because each piece is made to order, payment is taken in full at the time of order. Your piece enters the studio once payment is confirmed and your photograph has arrived.

We accept card payments via Stripe. Card details are handled securely by Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.

Special colours (Bronze, Copper, Gold, Black) add 39 euro each. Finish and standard colours are included in the price.

For deliveries outside the EU, your country may charge import duties, VAT or handling fees on arrival. These are set by your local authorities and are the recipient’s responsibility. We declare every parcel honestly with the correct value and description.

Prices may change over time, but the price you pay is the price shown at checkout when you order.

These terms are governed by Finnish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live. If we cannot resolve a dispute together, you may contact the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s Consumer Advisory Services (kuluttajaneuvonta), or refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta, kuluttajariita.fi). You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
